Winners Announced November 19th

Winners of the 4th Annual Anthem Awards are invited to record their acceptance speeches virtually to share their impact with the world!

The Call to Action is an integral part of any social impact campaign or project. The Anthem Awards honors this legacy of the Impact Industry by having Winners celebrate their work with a Call to Action Speech — a one sentence speech with a unique call to action to our audience of impact leaders.

Inaugural Lifetime Achievement Recipient Dr. Jane Goodall’s Call to Action was “Together we can change the world. Together we must.” Your Call to Action should be one sentence and be connected to your winning work.

Learn more about crafting your Call To Action Speech below:

Pick a Spokesperson

All Anthem Winners will get to record a one-sentence Call to Action speech for each winning work. You can choose one person from your team for each speech, one person for all the speeches, or even one person for each word of your speech. If your project collaborated with outside talent, you can also approach that person to record the speech.

Get Creative

Now that you know who’s speaking, it’s time to do what you do best: Get with your team and start brainstorming ideas for your speech. Maybe you want to film a group take with your team, or record in front of a famous place in your city. There are many ways to stand out with your Call to Action speech—take total creative liberty. Have fun with it!

Make a Statement

A short statement can carry immense power. Use your Call to Action speech to say something massive: about the work, about your vision for the future, about the state of the world… whatever you want to express.

How To Record Your Call To Action Speech:

1. RECORD YOUR VIDEO IN LANDSCAPE
We know it doesn’t feel natural to hold the phone horizontally when recording a video, but do your best. The Anthem Awards Winners Gallery will show video formatted as a square for maximum sharing on social media. So, make sure you’re in the center of the frame and not too close to the camera. You can have a friend or family member act as a camera person, prop up the phone on a table, or hold it yourself. If it’s better for you, you can record through your laptop, but keep in mind that the video will be cropped to a square.

Note: The speech will be cropped into a square so please be conscious of this when planning your shoot

2. LIGHT FROM THE FRONT
Your friends, family and colleagues want to see you bright and clear. So please find a spot with a good (and preferably natural) light source directed in front of you. Avoid filming with a window or other light located behind you.

3. QUIET ON THE SET
We know that you’re likely not in a studio and that finding a quiet space can be difficult. But please do your best to limit background noise while recording so we can hear your Call to Action Speech loud and clear.

4. PLEASE STAY IN THE SAFE AREA

An anthem badge will be added to the bottom left corner of the video, so please be mindful of adding text or graphics in that space.

5. HAVE FUN AND BE YOURSELF
The Anthem Awards prides itself on being an award show that’s prestigious, meaningful, and most of all, celebratory. Even though it’s very competitive to win an Anthem Award, we are a tight-knit community so please just relax, be yourself, and have fun with your speech! If you’d like to deliver it in your native language, please go right ahead.

6. RECORD JUST ONE SPEECH FOR EACH WINNING PROJECT
You should record and upload one speech per winning piece of work. If your project won in multiple categories, you will still only need one speech.
